Linseed Oil Paint (Sample)

Our family-owned oil factory is located in the small town of Iecava in southern Latvia. We are the largest producer of cold-pressed vegetable oils in the Baltics.

Properly applied linseed oil stain in two coats on a vertical planed surface lasts on average 4-5 years, and on finely sawn wood, it lasts 5-8 years.

Restoration is simple – just clean the surface and apply a new coat. There's no need to sand off the old coating.

If less than 48 hours have passed, try wiping off the excess oil with pine turpentine. If it's been a week or two, try to use white spirit. One coat is enough indoors on low-traffic surfaces like ceilings, walls, carvings, crafts, and toys. For outdoors, we recommend two coats. For example, apply the first coat to the facade boards while on the ground, and the second after the house is cladded. This helps protect the edges of the boards, screw areas, and more from moisture.

You can use a primer, but keep in mind that it may lighten the stain tone. It's best to apply the linseed oil stain in two coats. We typically recommend using a primer with linseed oil paint, not the stain.

To speed up the drying of the stain, you can dilute it with turpentine by 10%-15%. It's important to carefully wipe off excess oil, ensure good ventilation, and maintain a temperature of around 20°C (+/- 2°C). In cold and damp air, the coating dries much slower.

All our oils are fully compatible. Customers often mix them to create new shades or dilute them with our colorless products to achieve a lighter tone.
